The Local Craft Food & Drink Celebrate Four Years with a New Menu

It’s been four years since The Local Craft Food & Drink opened its doors in the heart of Coral Gables. Since then its made a name for itself as a laid-back spot with a massive assortment of beers and one of the best bar menus in the area.

In honor of the anniversary, the restaurant’s new executive chef Phil Bryant, formerly of Swine Table & Bar, is launching his new menu today, Thursday, April 30 from 6 to 10 p.m. with giveaways, new menu samplings and happy hour specials all evening long.

We got a sampling on the new menu and some of the stand-out “snacks” included the Pulled Hen and Buttermilk Dumplings served with Vidalia onions, fresh greens and a tangy Parmesan gravy and the Mc’Disco, their take on poutine made with country ham and creamy house-made pimento cheese on a pressed potato roll.

For the main course we tried Bryant’s take of the classic Corned Beef Sandwich with swiss cheese, giardiniere, home-made mustard jus along with the Fried Georgia Chicken Basket served with hand cut fries, house hot sauce, Southern cornbread and a country ham reduction. And of course we couldn’t finish without dessert, getting a fast of the with the Orange Dream Jar a creamy vanilla panna cotta topped with orange gelée and served with a tiny wooden ice cream spoon — if you’re a fan of creamsicles this dessert is for you. Also we tasted the Chocolate Layer Cake with citrus caramel sauce, chocolate butter cream, and spiced peanut brittle, which would make any chocolate lover very happy.

Check out the delicious pics below and make sure not to miss tonight’s anniversary festivities!
