Macchialina is really embracing their new liquor license. They’ve brought on Will Rivas to create progressive farm-to-table inspired cocktails and taking it a step further, have launched Macchialina’s Bar Takeover series where a guest bartender comes in to create cocktails based on a theme of their choice and Chef Michael Pirolo creates dishes to compliment those drinks.
The first esteemed guest bartender was Michael Parish. The second, Rob Ferrara paying homage to his hometown with “A Night at the Jersey Shore”. The third installment which took place July 24 featured Adam Del GucciMane from Rec Room. His theme? Surrealist. And his cocktails, well, all named after Kanye West songs of course. This time, however, there was a twist. The kitchen was also taken over by 1826 Restaurant Lounge’s Danny Grant. Admission was $20 and included the below dishes as well as a charcuterie station. Drinks were $10 and well worth it.
Next up, Oxley Gin’s brand ambassador Jamie Evans taking place Thursday, August 21 from 11pm-1am. The theme will be influenced by the 80’s Yuppie culture. Think American Psycho. Jaime’s drinks will of course be gin based and are meant to be sarcastic takes on 80’s cocktails. There will be a $10 entry fee which will cover the 80’s themed passed hors d’oeuvres from Chef Pirolo.
