Beaker & Gray launches another delicious cocktail menu for 2017!

We’re no stranger to Beaker & Gray, one of Wynwood’s restaurant and cocktail bars, since it opened.  The food, vibe, and of course the cocktails make Beaker & Gray a go-to when we’re hungry and thirsty.  When we heard a new menu was being launched for the new year we had to explore what Bar Manager Ben Potts and his team were up to.

The menu was a team effort conceptualized by Ben Potts.  Ben wanted to take the direction they were going in and reapply it for the 2017 launch menu.  This includes adding different infusions amongst other creative techniques.

The menu is split into a Selects, Aperitivos, Digestivos as well as Shaken, Stirred and Strange.

Here are our favorites:

Berry Other Barry
Chinola Passionfruit Liqueur, Raspberry, Creme Yvette, Noilly Prat Dry

Spirited Miami’s (SM) take:  With the hard-to-find Chinola Passionfruit Liqueur, Noilly Prat Dry and Creme Yvette, you find beautiful flavors being complemented and balanced by each other.  No flavor overpowers the other.  Reminds us of a re-designed Cobbler.  A fantastic low ABV cocktail, great to get the night started.

Funky Americano
Funky Buddha Floridian, Americano Gancia, Cynar, Byrrh

SM’s take:  A beer cocktail unlike any other we’ve tasted.  Herbaceous, bitter and funky in just all the right ways.  Another starter for the evening.

C.R.E.A.M.
Cooper’s Craft Bourbon, Cream, Vanilla

SM’s take:  A great after dinner drink!  Think of this as a milkshake for adults (just very well balanced).  Easy drinking.

Antonio La Tigre
Gra’it Grappa, FOS Mastiha, Bonollo Amaro, Dandelion Bitters

SM’s take:  Loving how the FOS Mastiha shines in this cocktail (Mastiha is a liqueur made with the sap from the Mastic tree).  Gra’it Grappa delicately plays into the cocktail without overpowering it.

Zombie
Santa Teresa Claro, Hamilton Jamaican, Plantation 151, Rhum Barbancourt 5 Star, Cinnamon, Grenadine, Bitters, Filthy Cherry

SM’s take:  A boozy classic redone Beaker & Gray’s way.  Four different types of r(h)um, but here, Rhum Agricole is king, incredible flavors being highlighted.  This drink is not for the faint of heart.  There should be a limit of two on this one!  Garnished with a zombie (yes, a zombie!) and of course a Filthy Cherry.

(Repo)st
Herradura Reposado, Pear-Malbec Cordial, House Falernum

SM’s take:  A perfect sour.  Clean and fresh with hints of pear throughout.  We love this cocktail and it’s a beauty.

There you have it folks, get in there while you can as all menus at Beaker & Gray are seasonal and change every couple of months.  Looks like this one should stay a little longer.
