Palmar offers Chinese Classics and Tropical Vibes

Salsa music and Mongolian Beef, a surprising combo just on the edge of Wynwood. Palmar, a modern Chinese restaurant with a tropical vibe by Javier Ramirez and Leo Monterrey, opened during Miami Art Week December 2017. The restaurant recently launched its lunch menu featuring a 3-course Power Lunch, dim sum, and a la carte options.

We stopped in on a Summer Friday for the Power Lunch special offering Chinese-inspired dishes by Chef Albert Diaz. The first course includes options like the Vegetable Egg Roll stuffed with pickled beet, charred cabbage served with a juniper berry jus and Chicken Gyoza served in a lime ginger soy sauce.

Up next, the second-course menu offers classics like Egg Fried Rice made with scallions, coriander and duck egg yolk and Mongolian Beef—a bold and flavorful standout dishserved over a bed of white rice.

Finish it up with a refreshing plate of Assorted Fruit or 5-Spice Egg Custard with coconut espuma, yuzu-mango marmalade and a coriander crumble.

Palmar offers lunch Thursday–Sunday from 12 pm–3 pm. The 3-course deal starts at $19 per person. Stop in for dinner Tuesday–Sunday from 6 pm–11 pm for dishes like Peking Duck and Steamed Buns made in-house. Pair your meal with a glass from Palmar’s beverage program curated by Mr.D.
