Bunnie Cakes Cupcake Wars

Bunnie Cake Cupcake WarsInspired by its own stint on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, Bunnie Cakes decided to host its own version of the competition on Thursday, January 29, in celebration of its second anniversary.

Us and three other challengers were tasked with creating our own signature cupcake and represent their favorite charity to benefit. Our competitors included Jackie Gutierrez-Jones (Urban Daddy), Hannah Sentenac (Miami New Times), and Sef Gonzalez (Burger Beast) who all got creative with their creations combining their choice of cake, filling, icings and toppings for the ultimate cupcake.

…and we’re proud to say Chat Chow TV came out victorious!

Unknown-3

Our Neapolitan Cupcake made with chocolate cake, fresh strawberries and vanilla icing filling, topped with vanilla icing, a chocolate swirl and strawberry garnish was the first-ever Bunnie Cakes “Cupcake Wars” champion.

The limited edition cupcake will be available during the month of February as the Flavor of the Month. Proceeds of the winning cupcake’s sales will benefit Common Threads, whose mission is to educate children on the importance of nutrition and physical well-being and to foster an appreciation of cultural diversity through cooking.

In the spirit of charity and community, Bunnie Cakes also made a donation to Gutierrez-Jones’ charity, Mother’s Milk Bank; Sentenac’s charity, Compassion Over Killing and Gonzalez’s charity, For The Love of Pups. Each participant also won a dozen cupcakes every month for a year.

Make sure to stop by Bunnie Cakes this month and try our creation for yourself!
