In a city that spends most of its time in crop tops, at the beach, and drinking into the late hours of the night (or early morning), it’s no wonder there’s juice bars popping up on every corner. But what about a superfood juice bar; one that’s dishing out arepas, noritos, and coconut ceviche. Enter Manna Life Food in Downtown.
The brainchild of nutrition and wellness expert Sabra Seligman (who got her culinary training under vegan chef and author Mark Reinfeld), Manna Life Food is the result of her 16-year global career. Nestled at the historic Alfred I. DuPont building, Manna’s a breath of fresh food and a truly unique offering in the healthy category. Noritos (nori burritos) satiate the palate while nourishing the body (choose from Baked Tofu with a killer house made ginger cashew sauce or Raw Falafel with red pepper hummus and tzatziki). Of course everything here is made in house and from scratch, from the bevy of Juices and Smoothies to the raw and baked sweets to the superfood Arepas (made using organic corn, chia and golden flax seeds, coconut oil and sea salt). In a hurry? The grab-n-go offers items like Raw Pad Thai, Matcha Chia Pudding, Protein Bliss Balls, and other forms of divine nourishment, which is exactly what Manna stands for in biblical terms. Biblical or not, it tastes divine to us.
