Progressive craft cocktails, comprised of fresh fruit and local flavors, are the foundation of the happy hour cocktail menu at International Smoke. The popular global barbecue spot in Aventura Mall — by Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry — offers discounted drinks and bites from 4 to 7 p.m. every weekday.
Each cocktail is designed under the mantra “produce first, spirit second,” meaning drinks are crafted in partnership with regional farmers and combined with a spirit specially selected to enhance each ingredient. The Cold Smoked Old-Fashioned cocktail is a twist on the popular drink using smoke as a main ingredient, being served in a smoked jar can and serves as a tribute to grilling. For a fun take with a Lilikoi Mai Tai, International Smoke’s is served in a spam can and filled with Light & Dark Rum, Lilikoi, Pineapple, and Lime Juice. And the colorful Issa Gin & Tonic made with Beefeater Gin, Elderflower, Grapefruit, Sage, and Tonic, was a refreshing take on the cocktail.
Also on the happy hour are the legendary Punch Bowls — which are on special every Wednesday — are packed with flavors are ideal for sharing with five to seven people. Local and craft beers are available along with a vast selection of wines.
To soak up all that booze there is plenty of bar bites. Our favorites were the fresh baked Cornbread with Thai curry butter and the Grilled Fishwich with lemon-caper aioli, avocado, campari tomato and red onion. Other items like wood-fired Oysters, Pork Ribs, and Jerk Fried Chicken round out the menu.
