Vista Brings Charm and Flavorful Cuisine to Buena Vista

The duo behind Downtown Miami’s Italian restaurant Fratelli Milano,  Roberto Bearzi and wife Fiorella Blanco, have debuted their second eatery, Vista. The two-story restaurant adds a tasty twist to Italian cuisine within Miami’s newest area, Upper Buena Vista.

The restaurant offers up a wide-ranging, all-day menu, created by Giuliano Leverone, and we got to try it first hand. Standout appetizers include the Octopus with baby potatoes, romanesco, squash puree, chorizo oil, and salsa verde; the Artisan Bread Basket with a can’t miss tomato sauce; the summer-appropriate Grilled Peaches with arugula, stracciatella, and toasted pine nuts; and the Fisherman Crudo topped with citrus, avocado, cucumbers, and cilantro.

A selection of entrées we dined on included the Maltagliati Brisket with homemade maltagliati pasta, slow braised brisket, tomato and parmesan cheese; the unexpected and spicy Poblano Pesto Gnocchi with poblano peppers, mint and pistachio and  the tropical Snapper a la Plancha with mango chutney and coconut wild rice, which a refreshing and unexpected take on the dish. To finish the meal we feasted on the Apple Pie made with puff pastry, Fuji apples, vanilla gelato and last but not least, Mango Cheesecake.

Of course, the meal wouldn’t be complete without cocktails and we tried plenty of them. Some our favorites included the refreshing Amalfi Coast with Botanist Fin, Solero, Luxardo apricot, Terragon’s Limoncello, Raising’s Americano Cocchi; the Sexy Ficus with Cazadores Blanco, Illegal Mezcal, Joven, Americano Cocchi, lemon, honey, jalapeño and cantaloupe; the Varadero with Ziami Platinum, Limoncello, lime, watermelon and pink peppercorn; and the unique and boozy Horse Ride with Peanut Butter Overholt Rye, spice, bacon angostura.
