How to Drink Your Way through EAST Miami

One of Miami’s chicest new hotels, EAST Miami also has some of the best libation offerings in the city. Here’s how to try all of them in one delicious day.

Noon: Start your day off poolside, while enjoying its extensive menu of refreshing beverages and snacks from their signature eatery, Quinto La Huella. While all the drinks are delicious, our favorite to sip on while soaking up some rays is the Caipi Mediterránea made with Russian Standard, Lime, Cane Sugar, Strawberries, Grapes and Basil.

4 p.m. Cool off at Domain, the hotel’s lobby bar and café and grab a snack and a drink. In the morning it serves as the perfect spot to grab a pastry and a juice, and in the afternoon fresh salads or hearty sandwiches are available. But happy hour can’t be missed, a glass of crisp Rosé is always nice, but if you’re craving a stronger never the appropriately named The Getaway made with Plantation Pineapple Rum, Tamarind Ginger Chutney, Pineapple, Lime and Ginger Beer is our pick.

Evening Shade
Evening Shade w/ Glenlivet 12, St. Germain, Peach, Rosemary & Lemon

7 p.m. Just before sun sets head up to Sugar, the hotel’s 40th floor rooftop bar and garden, which offers cocktails and Asian tapas. Besides the amazing panoramic views overlooking the downtown Miami skyline and surrounding waterways below, drinks by Sugar’s Bar Manager Andrew Lue make it all the better. Three of our favorites include the Sesame Sling with Tanqueray Gin, Mango, Key Lime, Hibiscus and Sesame; the Lychee Blossom with Russian Standard Vodka, Sake and Lychee; and the Evening Shade with Glenlivet 12, St. Germain, Peach, Rosemary and Lemon.

10 p.m. Finish the day at Sugar’s Tea Room. Before dancing the night away, grab one of their concoctions from their new menu like this one we had made with Nikka Coffey Grain Whiskey, Cuban Colada with Thai Chili Syrup, which will give you a little caffeine boost and a little kick to get you through the evening.
