Fresh Seafood and Bottomless Rosé at Izzy’s Brunch

There is no denying that we’re big fans of brunch, and when Miami Beach newcomer Izzy’s Fish & Oyster launched its weekend brunch we knew we had to check it out. The seafood-filled restaurant from owner Jamie DeRosa’s pays tribute to his childhood summers spent at the seaside shacks of the Northeast.

Leading the kitchen is chef de cuisine William Crandall, who created a brunch menu that was a nice mix of classic breakfast items and seafood favorites — all which happen to pair perfectly with the bottomless rosé wine offered for just $25. For starters we tried the Sugar Snap Salad topped with grana padano cheese, mint and maracona, which was a unique take on a salad we hadn’t seen in South Florida before, followed by a Steak Tartare with greens and pickled turnips and the restaurant’s take on the classic fried calamari with its Fried Clam Bellies.

Savory mains included a a perfectly cooked IPA Battered Fish N’ Chips served with waffle fries and malt vinegar; Izzy’s Maine Lobster Roll which you can order hot or cold; Fried Oyster Rancheros made with Taquiza tortillas, black beans and eggs; and the Maine Lobster Benedict on top of English muffins, arugula and Old Bay Hollandaise.

A meal wouldn’t be complete without dessert, and Izzy’s keeps the New England theme going with its sweet options like freshly baked Whoopies with marshmallow fluff and a Challah French Toast with berries and salted almonds, which is actually a main course, but works as a great dessert option as well.

Izzy’s Brunch is available both Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Until you get a chance to experience it for yourself, check out the delicious pictures below.
